Norton Basin Edgemere wetland buffer

By admin On October 10, 2010 Under Treatment Wetland

On July 6, 2007 (www.pbs.org Bill Moyers asked EO Wilson “I think most people listening want to do something. They want to know what to do.” I was just thrilled to hear him say: “It can be from– just being locally active in saving a– woodland along a nearby river or– regionally in– allying yourself with a– department of environment, which– or one of the– conservation organizations works locally– to– ensure that a certain biologically rich area or wetland is set aside as a– as a park and a reserve rather than being turned over to developers.” This is just what the members of the Norton Basin Edgemere Stewardship Group have been doing for the last three years. We work along the shore of Jamaica Bay at Edgemere in Far Rockaway. The video is a 360 degree view taken on June 6, 2007 at when the tide was low.
